Location: Portland, OR
Duration: Long Term W2 Contract
Must Haves:
- SAP AFS or ECC experience (ideally SD and/or MM with wholesale/supply chain experience)
- SAP interface knowledge (IDocs, RFCs) TIBCO / SAP XI / PI exposure
- Automic or scheduling tools
- L2 production support experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear status updates, issue escalation, and crossteam coordination
Job Description:
. Objective
The objective of this engagement is to provide an experienced Operations Engineer to support SAP AFS, including integration operations, across adidas wholesale, supply chain, and related processes.
- Ensure system stability and operational continuity across SAP AFS, interfaces, and batch processing.
- Drive proactive monitoring, issue prevention, and testing/validation support for fixes and changes.
Role Positioning
- Not a senior SAP consultant / SME role.
- The role is focused on proactive operations, not routine ticket handling.
- Primary responsibility is operational stability across SAP AFS, interfaces, and batch processing
Scope of Services & Responsibilities
4.1 Operations, Monitoring & Integrations (Primary)
- Monitor SAP AFS, including interfaces/middleware, and job scheduling; respond to alerts and investigate anomalies.
- Troubleshoot interface failures (e.g., IDocs/RFCs) and job dependencies; assess and communicate business impact.
- Identify risks early, analyze system health trends, and recommend operational improvements. 4.2 Incident & Problem Management (L2)
- Investigate moderately complex incidents using structured troubleshooting.
- Escalate effectively with clear diagnostics, evidence, and business impact.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA), identify recurring issues, and propose corrective actions.
- Validate fixes and changes in non-production environments and support regression and functional testing.
- Work within IT service management processes, partnering with support and service management teams to provide updates and drive tickets to closure.
- Maintain runbooks and documentation, including troubleshooting steps and lessons learned.
- Continuously improve monitoring effectiveness, operational stability, and support improvement initiatives.

- Understanding of O2C, inventory, and billing flows
- Work independently with minimal oversight while contributing to team outcomes.
- Proactively investigate issues and drive improvements.
