Job Summary
We are seeking an Expert-level Unix/Linux Administrator with strong scripting and automation experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and automating large-scale Unix/Linux environments while ensuring system reliability, performance, and security. This role requires deep expertise in scripting languages and enterprise monitoring tools like TrueSight.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and support large-scale Unix/Linux environments (RHEL, Solaris, etc.)
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Python, and Perl
- Work with XML for configuration, data processing, and integrations
- Implement and manage automation using Ansible
- Monitor system performance, availability, and health using TrueSight
- Perform system upgrades, patching, and security hardening
- Troubleshoot complex system, application, and performance issues
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in Unix/Linux system administration
- Strong expertise in Shell scripting, Python, and Perl
- Hands-on experience with Ansible automation
- Experience working with XML technologies
- Proficiency in system monitoring tools, preferably TrueSight
- Deep understanding of OS internals, file systems, networking, and security
- Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in enterprise-level or financial environments
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is a plus
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with other monitoring tools (Nagios, Splunk, etc.)
