POSITION SUMMARY: The Reading/Intervention Specialist is a highly qualified and collaborative educator responsible for providing leadership and support to enhance MTSS processes and literacy instruction and improve outcomes for all students. This individual will work directly with students, teachers, administrators, and parents to implement evidence-based interventions, provide professional development, and foster a school-wide culture of academic achievement. The Reading/Intervention Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring all students develop strong foundational skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Education with a specialization in Reading or Literacy (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid Pennsylvania teaching and reading specialist certification.
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience at the elementary level preferred.
- Deep understanding of evidence-based reading research and best practices in literacy instruction.
- Experience in administering and interpreting a variety of literacy assessments.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective reading interventions for struggling readers.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and use it to inform instruction.
- Experience in providing professional development to teachers (preferred).
- Proficiency in using technology to support literacy instruction and data management.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners.
