Nurse Navigator (RN) - Heart and Vascular Department
Schedule: Full-Time Days 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Summary:
Assures optimum quality patient care by serving as a cardiac navigator resource liaison for all ancillary departments and medical staff members.
Reports to: Director of Physician Services
Essential Functions:
- Performs assessment skills.
- Plans nursing care.
- Intervenes with appropriate action after needs are identified.
- Evaluates the assessment, planning and intervention process.
- Demonstrates professional and personal development.
- Delivers direct patient care appropriate to the age of patient served including adult and geriatric patients.
Additional Skills:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Requires excellent organizational skills and knowledge regarding the cardiac patient population to effectively identify the patients' needs and address them in a timely manner.
- Must have good communication skills with patients, family and or caregivers.
- Collaborates well with all physicians and coworkers.

What we're looking for
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina (or compact license)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - to be obtained within 6 months
- Two years of RN experience (required)
- Active North Carolina RN license (single state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins
