Responsibilities
Margaritaville at Sea is seeking a UX/UI Developer who combines strong design sensibilities with hands-on front-end development skills to deliver intuitive, engaging, and visually polished digital experiences across ecommerce websites and applications. In this role, the developer will take concepts from design through production—creating wireframes and prototypes, translating them into responsive, accessible, high-performing front-end code, and ensuring interfaces that meet user needs and business goals. Success requires a deep understanding of user-centered design principles and business objectives to enhance conversion rates, reduce friction, and improve the overall customer journey. The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create cohesive, brand-aligned solutions that elevate the digital experience.
Essential Functions:
• Front-End Development: The developer will create responsive web pages, components, and UI features using HTML, CSS (SCSS/SASS), JavaScript, and modern frameworks such as React, Vue, or Next.js. They will implement animations, transitions, and interactions that elevate the user experience while optimizing code and assets for performance, accessibility, SEO, and cross-browser compatibility. Additionally, the developer will build and maintain reusable component libraries aligned with the design system to ensure consistency and scalability.
• UX/UI Design & Prototyping: This role involves creating wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to communicate user flows and UI concepts effectively. The developer will translate design specifications and prototypes into production-ready code while maintaining and evolving the design system, style guides, and accessibility standards. Consistency across all digital experiences is a key priority.
• User Research & Testing: The developer will conduct user research, usability testing, and A/B testing to validate ideas and improve designs. They will collect and analyze user feedback to identify friction points and propose enhancements that optimize user flows, improve engagement, and increase conversion rates. Continuous iteration based on data and insights is essential to success in this role.
• Collaboration & Delivery: Working closely with product managers, backend developers, and marketing teams, the developer will ensure seamless delivery of end-to-end features. They will participate in agile ceremonies, plan sprints, and estimate development tasks while maintaining smooth handoff between design intent and engineered implementation. Strong communication and collaboration skills are critical for aligning design efforts with product strategy and technical feasibility.
