Director, Marine Asset Management and Planned Maintenance

Margaritaville at Sea
Orlando, FL Full Time
POSTED ON 10/22/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/20/2026

Margaritaville at Sea sells escape. Our Director, Marine Asset Management and Planned Maintenance keeps that escape running: every system aboard maintained on schedule, and the right spare part aboard before it is needed. This is a chance to own the fleet's maintenance and inventory systems at a moment of growth: our third ship, Beachcomber, enters service from Miami in January 2027. It is a visible role at the center of the fleet's technical operation, with direct access to Marine leadership.

ABOUT MARGARITAVILLE AT SEA

Classica Cruise Operator, Ltd., doing business as Margaritaville at Sea, operates Bahamas-flagged cruise ships from Florida homeports in Palm Beach, Tampa and Miami.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Vice President, Technical, the Director, Marine Asset Management and Planned Maintenance owns the fleet's AMOS planned maintenance system (PMS), technical inventory and spare-parts controls. You will set the standards, lead the teams that keep AMOS accurate, and give Marine leadership a clear, data-driven picture of maintenance status, critical spares and procurement. Chief Engineers and Technical Superintendents keep operational accountability for vessel maintenance; you provide the governance, systems, standards and reporting that make fleet execution consistent.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Lead AMOS and Planned Maintenance

  • Own AMOS across the fleet and lead its development, implementation and continuous improvement.
  • Standardize PMS structures, equipment hierarchies, maintenance intervals, job descriptions and technical data across all vessels.
  • Work with Chief Engineers, Technical Superintendents and vessel teams to make sure planned maintenance is scheduled, completed and recorded.

Maintenance Governance and Data Integrity

  • Set fleet standards for PMS compliance and data quality, and identify recurring overdue maintenance and system weaknesses that need management action.
  • Maintain high-quality AMOS master data, including equipment, components, maintenance jobs, spare parts, manufacturers, part numbers and inventory locations.

Inventory and Critical Spares

  • Lead the fleet technical inventory program so that AMOS reflects the physical stock aboard each ship, with regular verification, reconciliation and reporting.
  • Build vessel-specific critical spare parts lists with the Technical team, and set minimum and maximum stock levels and reorder points based on equipment criticality, consumption, lead time and operational risk.

Procurement Visibility

  • Track technical requisitions and purchase orders through approval, ordering and delivery, including long-lead critical items, and work with Technical and Procurement to escalate anything that could affect vessel reliability or maintenance completion.

Teams and Ship Manager Coordination

  • Direct the priorities of the Traveling AMOS Team and the Inventory Team, deploying them to vessels according to fleet priorities.
  • Give functional direction to onboard AMOS Controllers and Marine Storekeepers, with common working practices, reporting requirements and performance expectations.
  • Serve as the Marine Department's principal interface with our third-party ship manager on AMOS, planned maintenance, inventory and asset management, keeping responsibilities, data and actions aligned between owner, ship manager and vessels.

Reporting and Continuous Improvement

  • Report to Marine leadership on PMS compliance, overdue and deferred maintenance, open requisitions and purchase orders, critical-spare availability, inventory accuracy and value, and excess or obsolete stock.
  • Work with the Vice President, Technical to improve maintenance planning, reduce unnecessary inventory, avoid duplicate purchases, and improve equipment reliability and cost control.

WHAT YOU BRING

Required

  • Background in marine engineering, naval architecture, marine technical management or an equivalent technical discipline.
  • Substantial experience in ship technical operations, planned maintenance systems and maintenance planning.
  • Practical knowledge of AMOS or a comparable marine asset management or PMS platform.
  • Strong understanding of marine equipment, spare-parts management, inventory control and technical procurement.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to turn AMOS data into clear management information and fleet priorities.
  • Effective communication with Chief Engineers, Technical Superintendents, Procurement, ship managers and senior leadership.

Preferred

  • Experience managing multi-vessel PMS databases and coordinating shoreside and onboard technical teams (strongly preferred).

LOCATION AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Hybrid schedule based in Orlando, Florida; the successful candidate must reside in, or relocate to, the Orlando area.
  • Travel of 25 to 50 percent to our homeports and aboard our ships, including overnight sailings. Shipboard work includes machinery spaces, storerooms and exterior decks, climbing ladders and wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Cruise operations run around the clock; after-hours availability is required for urgent maintenance and spare-parts issues affecting vessel operations.
