Duties & Responsibilities
Teacher & Assistant Teacher Supervision
- Supervise teachers and teaching assistants
- Perform class observations
- Conduct annual teacher and assistant teacher evaluations
- Develop and implement teacher improvement plans as needed
- Ensure proper coverage when program staff is absent
- Regularly meet with teaching teams
- Lead grade-level staff meetings
- Develop and lead professional development as needed
- Keep current with state and district curriculum requirements
- Review and purchase appropriate curriculum materials
- Track graduation requirements for all districts
- Assist Program Director with scheduling, programming, and credit tracking
- An administrative credential granted by an accredited postsecondary educational institution and at least three years of experience with pupils in special education
- Experience mentoring teaching candidates in a special education program
- Proficient in Google Classroom
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of staff members
- Ability to problem-solve
