JOB SUMMARY
Marcelo’s Movers is seeking experienced Owner-Operators / Independent Moving Contractors with their own cargo van or 16–26 ft box truck to handle residential and commercial moving jobs throughout New York City and the Tri-State Area.
BOX TRUCK — Earn up to $5,000 per week
CARGO VAN — Earn up to $4,000 per week
NO CAP ON EARNING POTENTIAL.
We provide booked moving jobs, customers, dispatch, and office support. You provide your vehicle, moving equipment, and qualified crew.
This is a professional MOVING opportunity — NOT a package delivery or courier position.
We are looking for experienced moving professionals who know how to properly protect furniture, load and unload household goods, manage a moving crew, and provide excellent customer service.
You bring the truck. We bring the jobs. You build the income.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete residential and commercial moving jobs throughout NYC and surrounding areas.
- Provide and operate your own cargo van or 16–26 ft box truck.
- Provide a qualified moving crew based on the size of the assigned job.
- Safely wrap, protect, load, transport, and unload customers’ furniture and belongings.
- Properly secure furniture and household goods inside the vehicle.
- Disassemble and reassemble furniture when required.
- Protect floors, walls, elevators, doorways, and customer property.
- Manage your crew and complete assigned moves safely and efficiently.
- Communicate professionally with customers.
- Coordinate job details with Marcelo’s Movers dispatch and office team.
- Maintain a clean, safe, reliable, and professional vehicle.
- Maintain required vehicle documentation and insurance.
- Complete required job documentation.
- Follow professional moving and customer-service standards.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- Professional moving experience required.
- MUST own a cargo van or 16–26 ft box truck.
- Experience running residential and/or commercial moving jobs.
- Strong knowledge of furniture wrapping and protection.
- Strong loading, unloading, and truck-packing skills.
- Experience using moving blankets, dollies, hand trucks, straps, shrink wrap, and basic moving tools.
- Ability to disassemble and reassemble common household furniture.
- Experience managing or leading a moving crew.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Comfortable operating your vehicle throughout NYC.
- Strong customer-service and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, organized, and professional.
- Smartphone required.
COMPENSATION
Box Truck Owner-Operators — Earn up to $5,000 per week
Cargo Van Owner-Operators — Earn up to $4,000 per week
NO CAP ON EARNING POTENTIAL.
Compensation is production/percentage-based and varies based on job volume, vehicle capacity, availability, performance, and successfully completed moves. Earnings are not guaranteed.
This is an Independent Contractor (1099) opportunity. Contractors are responsible for providing their own vehicle, crew, moving equipment, required insurance, operating expenses, and applicable taxes.
