Job Summary
Join our fast-growing cold-chain delivery team as an Owner Operator running refrigerated cargo van routes in the Bronx! In this hands-on role, you'll operate your own reefer van delivering fresh and frozen groceries on pre-sorted, pre-sequenced routes — roughly 45 stops per route — dispatching daily from our Bronx hub. You choose your lane: AM routes (5:00 AM start), PM routes (2:00 PM start), or both. As the face of our service, you'll keep the cold chain intact, deliver on time, and leave every customer happy. This is an independent contractor (1099) opportunity built for reliable, motivated drivers who want to take control of their workday, run steady volume six to seven days a week, and grow with us.
Responsibilities
- Operate your own refrigerated (reefer) cargo van on assigned AM and/or PM delivery routes throughout the Bronx.
- Report to our Bronx dispatch hub at your start time - 5:00 AM for AM routes, 1:30 PM for PM routes - and load your pre-sorted, temperature-controlled grocery orders.
- Complete pre-sequenced routes of approximately 45 orders, keeping deliveries on time and on schedule.
- Maintain the cold chain throughout your route, handling perishable and frozen groceries with care.
- Deliver to homes, apartment buildings, and walk-ups, safely lifting and carrying grocery totes to the customer's door.
- Use our mobile routing app (Onfleet) for navigation, proof of delivery, and communication with dispatch.
- Follow all traffic laws and safe-driving practices, and keep your van clean and your refrigeration unit in good working order.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service on every stop.
Skills
- Own or lease a refrigerated (reefer) CARGO VAN - such as a Ford Transit 350, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, or RAM ProMaster with a working refrigeration unit.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Commercial auto/liability insurance, or the ability to obtain it before starting.
- Comfortable using a smartphone for route navigation and delivery documentation.
- Physically able to lift and carry grocery totes and manage multiple walk-up deliveries per route.
- Dependable, punctual, and professional, with strong customer service skills.
- Prior last-mile, courier, grocery, or cold-chain delivery experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of Bronx neighborhoods is a plus.
- Set up as - or willing to operate as - a 1099 independent contractor; your own EIN/registered business is a plus.
