Flooring Estimating Manager

Marc’s Flooring Service, Inc is a family owned flooring company that has been in business since 1992 and installs all types of flooring: vinyl, laminate, tile, carpet, and hardwood. Our team members take pride in their work and will do everything they can to ensure client expectations are exceeded through our commitment to quality and service. Marc's Flooring is based in St. Peters, Mo, but we operate across Missouri, Kansas, NW Arkansas and Western Illinois.

The Measure Manager is the critical bridge between our partners and our installation crews. You will be responsible for conducting accurate, on-site measurements for residential and commercial flooring projects, assessing site conditions, and producing precise floor plans. You will be responsible for managing the day to day process with our measure techs throughout our service area. The ideal candidate has a strong background in flooring, an eye for detail, and the technical know-how to spot potential installation issues (like subfloor prep needs or transition heights).

Key Responsibilities

• Site Measurements: Travel to residential and commercial job sites throughout the our service area which includes the entire state of Missouri, Wichita KS, Northwest Arkansas, Kansas City Metro area along with the St. Louis metro area. to capture precise measurements for carpet, hardwood, LVP, laminate, and tile installations. Coach and coordinate with subcontractor Teams.
• Site Assessment: Evaluate job sites for potential installation hurdles, including subfloor conditions, moisture issues, necessary prep work, baseboard/shoe molding requirements, and door clearances.
• Digital Drafting & Layouts: Utilize flooring measurement software to create accurate floor plans, optimize seam placements for carpet, and determine exact material quantities to minimize waste.
• Team Collaboration: Communicate clearly with Marc’s internal teams, our subcontractor partners and our Provider partners to ensure quotes are accurate and with installation crews to walk them through the layout and specific site requirements.
• Schedule Management: Oversee the measurement schedule, ensuring timely appointments that align with the sales pipeline and customer availability.
• Customer Experience: Represent Marc’s Flooring Service professionally in customers' homes, answering basic questions and setting expectations for the installation process.

Qualifications & Skills

• Industry Experience: Preferred minimum of 2–3 years of experience in the flooring industry, preferably with a background in installation, estimating, or project management. Flooring experience is not required, we can easily train the right candidate.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of different flooring materials (LVP, SPC, carpet, tile, hardwood) and their specific installation requirements and limitations.
• Software Proficiency: Experience with digital measuring tools (laser measurers) and flooring estimation software (e.g., MeasureSquare, RFMS Measure, or similar).
• Mathematical Aptitude: Strong spatial awareness, geometry, and basic math skills for calculating square footage, linear footage, and waste factors.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Requirements: A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a background check. Must be able to stoop, kneel, and navigate customer’s homes.
