JV Boys Ice Hockey Coach

The Marblehead High School JV Boys Ice Hockey Coach is responsible for leading and motivating a team of high school players to practice regularly, compete in games, and attend fundraising activities. The coach is expected to teach players various ice hockey skills and strategies. In addition, the coach will promote teamwork, sportsmanship,respect, commitment, integrity, and responsibility. Below are the essential qualifications, requirements, and responsibilities of a JV Boys Ice Hockey Coach: QUALIFICATIONKnowledge of Ice Hockey techniques, strategy, and play.Excellent communication and people skills.Ability to mentor and motivate athletes, providing guidance, feedback, and support to help them achieve their goalsOrganizational and management skills, including the ability to schedule and plan practices and events.Familiarity with Ice Hockey rules, strategy and safety guidelines.REQUIREMENTSExperience playing and or coaching Ice HockeyLeads by example regarding the promotion of sportsmanshipMust complete all Massachusetts coaching requirements, which includes the NFHS Concussion CertificateMust complete Marblehead School District requirements: Fingerprinting, CORI Background checkMust complete CPR/AED and First Aid CertificationPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSEye-hand, mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity, and the ability to bend, stoop, walk, talk, and sitBe exposed to heat, humidity, dust, rain, snow, and other weather and adverse environmental conditions.The ability to travel between locationsRESPONSIBILITIESMake practice plans and prepare the team to compete.Attend all practices and games, including supervising on the bus to and from away matches.

Communicate the team's practice and game schedule with the team and parents or guardians. Communicate all fundraising activities with the team and parents or guardians.Organize, distribute, and collect uniforms from the team.Maintains a positive staff relationship with other coaches and the trainer, including other experienced Marblehead JV Boys Ice Hockey coaches.Work with the varsity coach and athletic director to ensure compliance with all necessary requirements and regulations, including safety and liability issues.REPORTS TOMarblehead High School Athletic Director
