Marana Health is seeking a Health Information Management (HIM) Clerk to join the Compliance team at the Marana Main Health Center, located in the heart of Marana, AZ. The HIM Clerk is responsible for the receiving, sorting, distributing and monitoring of incoming and outgoing mail and facilitating medical records requests. Marana Health is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 11 sites in Tucson and Pima County. Our mission is to improve our Community by providing exceptional, whole-person healthcare.

The following qualifications are required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Current Arizona driver’s license with clean driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance (39-month MVR will be run by Marana Health)
- 1 year of experience in a mail disbursement environment
- Experience retrieving and transmitting electronic patient records

- Seals or opens envelopes by hand or by using machines, except for mail to/from the Human Resources Department.
- Affixes postage to packages or letters by hand, stamp materials, using postage meters.
- Verifies items are addressed correctly and in suitable condition for processing, marked with the proper postage using weighing scales and rate charts.
- Drives vehicle to deliver and/or receive mail from postal facility as needed.
- Places incoming or outgoing letters/packages into sacks or bins based on the destination or type, and places identifying tags on bins.
- Sorts and routes incoming mail. Collects outgoing mail using carts, as necessary.
- Lifts up to 50 pounds to load/unload containers of mail/supplies onto equipment for tranportation to departments.
- Responds to requests for patient records, including subpoenas, retrieving them as necessary and transmitting them appropriately while following the internal Marana Health protocols.
- Responsible for safeguarding patient records and ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Other duties/projects as assigned.
