Crate Shop Supervisor
Maquette Fine Art Services, Boston is seeking a full-time crate shop supervisor to handle the day to day operations in a high end wood shop - fabricating world class travel crates for museum and gallery clients at our 3,000 sqft crate shop in our Medford MA location.
Woodworking skills are a must, including experience with table saw, miter saw, and assorted hand tools. Our crating products are made with a high degree of workmanship, so candidates must have have strong attention to details like measurement accuracy, surface quality, and overall fit and finish. Applicants must be able to work from drawings and cut lists.
The Supervisor will report directly to the Director of Crating, responsibility include, but are not limited to day to day supervision of up to (5) shop technicians ensuring production schedules are met, material purchasing, material handling/receiving, shop organization, quality control/standards along with production/fabrication as required.
Applicants should be able and willing to assist with physical labor, occasionally work overtime hours, and are able to handle a fluctuating and pressing schedule.
Adaptability is a must, Good vibes preferred.
Two years of experience preferred in Art Crating, Carpentry, Woodworking or a related fields
Experience in Art Crating and/or Art Handling is a major plus.
Ability to drive a 16’ to 24’ truck in Boston, New York City and the surrounding region a plus (if interested in additional OT!)
