Job Title: Ocean Operation Coordinator

Job Type: Full Time, 40 hours per week

Salary: $42,000.00 - $60,000.00/year, depending on experience.

Report to: Operations Manager

Location: Bellevue/Redmond, WA

This job posting is for our US office (Maple Lane Logistics (USA) Inc. located in the Bellevue/Redmond area.


What we’re looking for…

We are seeking candidates with 1–3 years of experience in the ocean freight and logistics import/export industry, including experience with CY/CY, CY/Door, intermodal, and drayage shipments. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, effective time management skills, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while collaborating as part of a team. We are looking for someone with strong follow-up skills, solid organizational abilities, and professional email communication skills. The Freight Forwarder is primarily responsible for ensuring the proper and timely movement of international and/or domestic shipments while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and high service standards.


About the Position

Duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Handles and owns the entire shipping process of assigned shipments.
  • Tracks, traces, and updates the status of shipments on a daily basis.
  • Prepares, compiles, and sorts documents for data entry.
  • Transfers information from email instructions and a variety of shipping documents into MS Excel spreadsheet, Company system, and cloud files.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our system (GoFreight).
  • Maintains effective communication with customers, vendors, overseas agents, other Maple Lane offices, and co-workers through a high volume of e-mails, phone calls, and verbal contact.
  • Prepares shipping documents before sending to customers.
  • Monitoring of reports on a daily basis.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing to customers.
  • Meets key performance indicators to support the department, branch, product, and overall company goals.
  • Understands the operational process flow and constantly seeks improved ways for efficiency.
  • Protects confidential information of all customers and the Company


Qualifications

  • Attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
  • Outstanding time management and prioritization skills.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule as occasional overtime may be required based on shipment deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Requires minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • No OPT or SPT sponsor.
  • Excellent computer skills


Education & Experience

  • 1-3 years of ocean freight forwarding experience
  • Degree or Diploma in logistics, supply chain management, business, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience dealing with a high volume of data entry.
  • Reading and writing proficiency in a second language (preferred)

  • This is an in-office role at our Bellevue/Redmond location
