What we are looking for...
We are seeking an experienced Customs Entry Writer to join our dynamic team. An ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience as a customs entry writer. You will be responsible for preparing and filing U.S. Customs entries, ensuring full compliance will all regulatory requirements, and managing import shipments from clearance through final release. We are looking for candidates with strong follow-up abilities, excellent organizational skills, and professional email communication skills to ensure consistent client engagement and operational accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process proper customs documentation, including entry forms, invoices, and other necessary documents
- Classify goods using the Harmonized Tarriff Schedule (HTS)
- Monitor shipment status and resolve holds, exams, or clearance issues
- Coordinate with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for cargo release
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable customs laws, government agency rules, and internal procedures
- Calculate and verify duties, taxes, and fees payable on shipments
- Review commercial documents (commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin)
- Communicate with clients, carriers, and customs brokers to obtain required documentations and provide clearance updates
- Maintain accurate records of customs transactions and documentation
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a customs entry writer.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and HTS classification.
- Familiarity with international trade and transportation processes.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience dealing with a high volume of data entry.
- Proficient in MS Office and customs brokerage software systems.
- Self-driven with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- No OPT or SPT sponsor.
Preferred Qualifications:
