Advanced Tech Machining (ATM) is a precision CNC machining shop serving aerospace, defense, medical device, and industrial manufacturing customers across the United States. We are ISO-certified, DFARS-compliant, and equipped with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC capabilities. As we scale our operations and grow our customer base, we are seeking a hands-on, experienced CNC Machining Manager to lead our shop floor and drive excellence across quality, throughput, and team development.
ROLE SUMMARY
The CNC Machining Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of ATM's machine shop — owning production scheduling, quality output, equipment utilization, and team performance. You will be the bridge between sales-driven RFQ demands and shop-floor execution, working closely with our quoting and sales team to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
▪ Direct daily shop floor operations and production scheduling
▪ Program, set up, and oversee 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes
▪ Manage and mentor a team of machinists and operators
▪ Ensure on-time delivery and adherence to customer specifications
▪ Maintain and enforce ISO quality standards and inspection protocols
▪ Review engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing tolerances
▪ Collaborate with sales/quoting team on capacity and lead times
▪ Manage tooling inventory, equipment maintenance, and shop 5S standards
▪ Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time and scrap
Required
▪ 5 years CNC machining experience; 2 years in a supervisory role
▪ Proficiency in CNC programming (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar CAM software)
▪ Strong GD&T knowledge and blueprint reading skills
▪ Experience with Haas, Mazak, or Fanuc-controlled machines
▪ Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems
▪ Hands-on leader with strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred
▪ Aerospace, defense, or medical device machining background
▪ Familiarity with DFARS material requirements
▪ Experience with ERP/MES or digital quoting platforms (e.g., AMFG)
▪ AS9100 or ITAR compliance experience a strong plus
