What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3rd Shift Quality Inspector position at Manufacturing Company - Macomb Area?
We are seeking a self-motivated Quality Professional to support manufacturing operations by performing requisite inspection and testing of molded parts, components, and other items to verify that specified requirements are being met at the various stages of manufacturing processes. This position is on our 3rd shift - 10:45pm - 7:15am.
The ideal candidate should have 2 years minimum experience and be able to perform the following key duties:
1. Use a variety of precision M&TE including micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and other electronic and mechanical measuring devices when performing required inspection and testing.
2. Carry-out inspection and testing in accordance to documented instructions including, but not limited to:
· Receiving Inspection
· First/Last-Piece Inspection
· In-Process Inspection
3. Clearly and accurately record inspection and test results using legible handwriting, including out-of-tolerance conditions.
4. Enter data and information into various computer databases and other software applications.
5. Issue RMDFs upon the discovery of suspect/nonconforming product; identify, document, and segregate suspect/nonconforming products to prevent further processing or shipment to the customer.
6. Promptly notify the manufacturing supervisor upon discovery of suspect/nonconforming products/processes.
7. Document significant events encountered during the shift and distribute Shift Notes at end of shift.
8. Notify the Quality Engineer if ambiguous, incomplete, out-of-tolerance, or other suspect/nonconforming conditions are identified.
Other duties include:
- First and Last Shot Part Inspection.
- In-Process Inspection.
- Manufacturing Process Audits.
- Control of non-conforming product.
- Preform visual inspection.
- Willing to cover for teammates when needed.
Skills and Experience:

Physical Requirements
