MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Manufacturing & Quality Engineer to support the United States Space Force Space (USSF), Systems Command (SSC) in executing the National Security Space Launch (NSSL) program in the Cape Canaveral, FL area.
This role will support the NSSL program's launch vehicle manufacturing quality and readiness lifecycle. Focusing on Quality Engineering and Production Assurance, this role ensures supplier AS9100 compliance, mitigates risks from non-conformances, Escapements, and Out of Position (OOP) work, and drives Flightworthiness Certification. Key duties include performing audits, verifying "as-built" configurations, and consolidating multidisciplinary surveillance data into final Article Readiness Reports.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

Key duties include performing audits, verifying "as-built" configurations, and consolidating multidisciplinary surveillance data into final Article Readiness Reports.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Identify, document, and track non-conformances on a lot or individual component per Article.
- Define Out of Position (OOP) work that was performed and OOP work still open.
- Verify and validate that work performed out of position is in accordance with approved procedures by trained technicians.
- Identify system defect escapements, analyze root causes, and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Validate as-built configurations against design specifications to ensure the integrity of delivered components.
- Track configuration across Articles to identify Manufacturing or Supplier changes.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering or related STEM field. (1.5 years relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of each 1 year of education/degree requirement).
- 8 years as a Mechanical/Aerospace engineer in relevant fields
- 3 years of aerospace quality or manufacturing engineering experience.
- Experience involving manufacture of complex products, application of manufacturing principles and methods including product design, process design, producibility, process qualification/validation, product design requirements flow down to manufacturing.
- Degree, certification, or proven experience in quality engineering, manufacturing and production programs.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Products and AI platforms used for professional writing or data analysis.
- Experience with Delta, Atlas, Vulcan, Falcon (or similar) launch vehicle programs highly desired.
- Experience utilizing Jira for issue tracking and Confluence for collaborative knowledge sharing.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, not required to start.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
