A thriving biotechnology company in Boston is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their team. Reporting into the Accounting Manager, this role will support all aspects of the accounting function. The ideal candidate is a driven problem-solver with excellent attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Assist Accounting department with preparing journal entries, perform reconciliations, and perform account analysis.
- Apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to prepare income and balance sheet statements and various other accounting statements and reports.
- Assist with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable responsibilities.
- Assist in audit of fixed assets as well as financial audits.
- Reconcile bank accounts and prepare daily cash log.
- Provide data and analysis for month end reports.
- Ad hoc analysis as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- 1-3 years directly applicable accounts payable experience or relevant accounting/finance experience preferred.
- Strong customer service-type attitude and ability to successfully deal with employee and vendor questions and resolve issues.
- Absolute integrity and the use of good judgment to handle the confidential nature of duties, tasks and information.
- Incredibly detail-oriented and results driven.
- Ability to meet critical deadlines.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
