About the Role
Manning Kass is seeking a General Liability Associate, with at least 2 years of civil litigation experience, to join our Team in one of our California offices!
This role focuses on defending clients in complex, high-exposure general liability matters, including catastrophic injury cases. Our attorneys represent corporations, businesses, and insurers, while also advising clients on risk mitigation and litigation strategy.
Associates work closely with experienced trial attorneys and are actively involved in all phases of litigation—from initial case assessment through discovery, law and motion practice, and trial preparation. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney seeking hands-on experience, meaningful responsibility, and long-term growth within a dynamic litigation practice.
Responsibilities
- Attending court hearings, participating in site inspections, taking and defending depositions.
- Drafting extensive written discovery, including preparing and responding to interrogatories, documents requests and request for admissions.
- Evaluating, analyzing, assessing, and executing litigation strategies.
- Proactively manage communications with clients throughout the course of litigation.

Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
- Active membership in the California State Bar and in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years of general civil litigation experience.
- Experience with or exposure to catastrophic injury matters preferred.
- Active membership in the California State Bar and in good standing.
- Strong legal research and writing skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage and meet deadlines

- Salary starting at $125,000 - $180,000. Salary is commensurate with experience.
