The Production Scheduler is responsible for planning plant production requirements and related supplier material requirements.
Main Tasks
- Evaluates customer demand and firms up planned orders in SAP for assigned assembly cells and presses
- Creates and monitors 12-week master schedule for assigned assembly cells and presses
- Balances master schedule to level headcount, working within minimum/maximum inventory levels per the plant Plan For Every Part (PFEP)
- Calculates minimum/maximum inventory levels needed for each part number, for assigned cells, based on PFEP
- Coordinates and schedules pre-production in accordance with engineering work requests
- Coordinates bank builds
- Establishes priorities for specific production jobs
- Communicates master schedules to all affected personnel
- Monitors WIP/Finished Goods range of coverage and inventory accuracy ensuring that product identification and storage location are in accordance with plant PFEP and notifies Materials Manager of required inventory adjustments
- Maintains accurate record keeping and reporting utilizing SAP
- Operates a computer, calculator, copier, fax machine and standard office equipment
- Maintains an acceptable attendance record to ensure timely work completion
- Performs all activities in a professional and positive manner
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in integrated supply chain management, or a related field along with one-year minimum experience in scheduling or supply chain within an automotive manufacturing industry, or similar industry.
- Minimum of 2 years required in scheduling or supply chain within an automotive manufacturing industry, or similar industry if no degree.
- SAP ERP system experience (strong)
- Production Planning (PP) and Warehouse Management (WM)
- Interpersonal skills necessary to work in a cooperative, positive team approach
- Strong communication skills with cross functional teams
- Adaptability to change
- Time Reaction (need to be able to react quick)
