Mann Eye Institute is seeking an experienced and dynamic Regional Optical Manager to lead and inspire our optical teams across multiple clinic locations. This role is perfect for a seasoned optical professional who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment and is passionate about driving results through leadership, training, and operational excellence.
About the Role
As the Optical Regional Manager, you will oversee daily optical operations, manage and develop opticians, and ensure an exceptional patient experience through high-quality service and product offerings. You’ll collaborate closely with clinic administrators, doctors, and the Director of Optical to maximize performance, grow revenue, and uphold company standards.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee and support optical operations across assigned locations.
- Audit tickets and claims to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor key performance benchmarks (revenue per encounter, remake %, refunds, COGS, etc.).
- Work closely with the Frame Department on merchandising, inventory, and product selection.
- Partner with doctors and administrative teams to increase optical conversions.
- Train and develop optical teams on sales techniques, product knowledge, and patient communication.
- Lead by example—modeling strong customer service, professionalism, and integrity.
- Analyze data and reports to identify opportunities to improve profitability and performance.
- Collaborate with HR and leadership on hiring, coaching, and team development.
- Contribute to and refine Optical SOPs and best practices.
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of experience in the optical industry with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role (multi-location experience preferred).
- Proven track record of achieving sales and performance goals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust and inspire teams.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at balancing multiple priorities.
- Confident decision-maker with sound judgment under pressure.
- Strong understanding of optical operations, including lensometry, frame styling, and VP claims.
- Financial acumen and experience with reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
- Familiarity with medical management or practice software preferred.
