Your Impact

  • Execute electrical installations and maintain equipment across Shady Grove facilities — plus other locations as directed by the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisors, the Electrical Engineer, or their designees.
  • Champion continuous improvement by supporting Lean, 5S, and TPR initiatives.

Core Responsibilities

  • Handle a wide array of systems: three-phase 480/12500V distribution, single-phase feeder/branch circuits, and low-voltage DC controls.
  • Work hands-on with motors, generators, transfer switches, transformers, switchgear, bus ducts, and disconnects.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues rapidly using systematic troubleshooting.
  • Apply NEC, IEEE, and NEMA codes and standards on every task.
  • Complete load calculations to size conductors, conduit, fuses, and breakers per the National Electrical Code.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Solid knowledge of OSHA and NFPA70E as they relate to energized work in heavy manufacturing.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Technical trade school training and/or equivalent field experience (preferred).
  • 2 years in heavy manufacturing, a commercial/industrial apprenticeship, or relevant military experience (preferred).

Health & Safety Expectations

  • Maintain housekeeping and 5S.
  • Work safely, wear required PPE, and follow facility and job-specific procedures.
  • Participate in safety training and demonstrate competency.
  • Report hazards, unsafe acts, and suggestions — or correct them when possible.

Preferred Skills

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring and ladder diagrams, and single-line high-voltage diagrams for Arc Flash NFPA70E compliance.
  • Comfort with technical manuals and operating procedures; capable of writing routine reports and correspondence.

This position covers any and all manufacturing environments, and may be located inside or outside. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use tools or controls. The employee is frequently required to stand, reach, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Incumbent must be able to physically climb ladders and safely operate lift equipment, such as scissor lifts, Manlifts and boom trucks. Incumbent will work in a typical manufacturing environment including the use of solvents, adhesives, hydraulic oil, petroleum products, etc. There is frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds. Incumbent must be willing to work at various heights.
