We are seeking dynamic Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) for a comprehensive and rewarding experience to provide pediatric home, daycare, and other facilities based in Middlesex County, NJ. Akhil Autism Foundation(AAF) is a non profit organization based in Edison NJ.
We serve population from early intervention to adults with AUTISM.
AAF has partnered with PLAYWOrks to bring in a SMART BALL for Autism community.
The smart ball has sensors which provide visual and auditory feedback that motivates users through games. Smart PLAYBALL for physical, functional & cognitive rehabilitation
Maximize hand & body use through fun & functional gameplay
first-of-its-kind sensor physioball that provides visual
and auditory feedback to motivate users through gamified training. It has sensors, and it comes with an Android tablet.Under the direction of a Licensed Occupational Therapist,the COTA in this position will:
- Implement Adaptive fitness programs for individuals
- Using the SMART BALL - Provide occupational therapy services to children aged birth to 3 years in their most natural environment.
- · Able to work in diverse settings such as client homes, family day care homes, day care centers, or other community settings
- · Get parents involvement - Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement.
- · Follow Individualized Service Plan, plan ongoing treatment, and interpret goals and treatment plan for parents
- · Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and State & Federal regulations) and submit records to agency within established deadlines
This is a part time / contract – paid position.
