DIRECTOR INFORMATION & BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY to Serve the Medical Device Industry
MANIFEST Technology is hiring a Director of Information & Business Technology for the medical device industry. Reporting directly to the CFO and partnering with senior leadership, this highly visible, Minnesota-based leader will develop and execute the company’s technology strategy while ensuring reliable, secure, scalable operations. The role will balance hands-on leadership and operational stability with innovation across infrastructure, cybersecurity, IFS ERP and business applications, end-user technology, cloud platforms, data and analytics, AI enablement, and digital transformation. As our client scales in revenue, this leader will strengthen technology foundations, improve productivity and transparency, support acquisitions, and determine when capabilities should be built internally or delivered through strategic partners.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute a multi-year IT strategy and technology roadmap aligned with business objectives, rapid growth, acquisitions, operational excellence, and profitability.
- Advise the CFO and senior leadership on technology priorities, investment decisions, risks, capacity, and opportunities to create competitive advantage.
- Lead technology planning, budgeting, capital investments, vendor strategy, contract negotiations, and decisions to build capabilities internally or use third-party providers.
- Own the reliability, performance, security, scalability, and availability of networks, connectivity, wireless infrastructure, cloud platforms, servers, storage, data centers, Microsoft 365, identity services, backup and disaster recovery, telecommunications, and endpoints through internal teams and/or managed service providers.
- Establish and deliver uptime, recovery, service, and performance objectives; strengthen infrastructure to support business growth and acquired-company integration.
- Lead end-user technology and service delivery, including help desk, desktop and laptop support, mobile devices, printing, conference-room technology, software deployment, onboarding and offboarding, and IT asset lifecycle management.
- Own the strategy, support, integration, and value realization of IFS ERP, manufacturing systems, engineering applications, quality systems, CRM, business intelligence, reporting platforms, collaboration tools, and workflow automation.
- Develop and maintain an enterprise cybersecurity program encompassing policies, risk assessments, vulnerability management, endpoint protection, identity and access management, multifactor authentication, incident response, awareness training, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, regulated-manufacturing expectations, and customer cybersecurity requirements.
- Champion responsible adoption of artificial intelligence, generative AI, intelligent automation, robotic process automation, predictive analytics, data visualization, machine learning, and workflow automation with appropriate governance and data protection.
- Partner with Finance and business leaders to advance data warehousing, data governance, data quality, self-service analytics, executive reporting, KPI dashboards, and manufacturing analytics that enable data-driven decisions.
- Lead major technology initiatives from business case through implementation, managing scope, schedule, budget, adoption, benefits, and risk throughout the project lifecycle.
- Recruit, lead, develop, and mentor IT professionals; manage MSP, MSSP, and other strategic partners; and foster accountability, customer service, innovation, collaboration, urgency, and continuous improvement.
- Build trusted cross-functional relationships and deliver a best-in-class user experience that improves employee productivity, technology adoption, and business value.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- 10 years of progressive IT experience, including leadership of enterprise technology functions in high-tech manufacturing.
- Demonstrated success in a hands-on, action-oriented leadership role supporting a fast-paced, scaling organization.
- Strong manufacturing technology background with experience supporting business-critical plant, engineering, quality, and enterprise systems.
- Experience with ERP platforms in a manufacturing environment; IFS experience is strongly preferred.
- Proven leadership across infrastructure, Microsoft technologies, cloud services, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, end-user support, data and analytics, and digital transformation.
- Experience selecting and managing outsourced resources, MSPs, MSSPs, consultants, and strategic technology vendors.
- Track record of leading complex enterprise implementations and change-management initiatives on time and within budget.
- Strategic, digital-forward, and business-oriented mindset with strong executive presence and the ability to translate business needs into practical technology solutions.
- High sense of urgency, intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, customer focus, and strong problem-solving and continuous-improvement capabilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to lead teams, set clear expectations, develop talent, and build a culture of accountability, service, innovation, and cross-functional partnership.
- Based in Minnesota and able to work in the Minneapolis-area environment described above.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Medical device, life sciences, or other regulated manufacturing experience.
- Direct experience with IFS ERP and integrations across manufacturing, engineering, quality, finance, and commercial systems.
- Experience integrating acquired businesses and standardizing technology platforms, controls, and service delivery.
- Experience building enterprise data warehouses, dashboards, KPI reporting, self-service analytics, and data-governance practices.
- Practical experience deploying AI, generative AI, automation, or advanced analytics with responsible governance and measurable business outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant professional certifications are a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of IFS ERP, Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, networking, firewalls, virtualization, endpoint management, SQL databases, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, business intelligence, AI platforms, collaboration tools, and manufacturing systems.
