We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. - Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections
- Perform bank and account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting
- Prepare journal entries, conduct double-entry bookkeeping, and maintain accurate financial records using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including account analysis and financial statement preparation
- Maintain detailed records of accounts payable/receivable transactions, invoice processing, and expense tracking
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting environments with a focus on bookkeeping and financial data management
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of GAAP principles along with experience in governmental or non-profit accounting preferred
- Hands-on experience with payroll systems like ADP or Paychex; understanding of payroll management processes is a plus
- Strong data entry skills including 10 key typing; ability to perform account reconciliation accurately and efficiently
- Basic understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis
- Ability to interpret financial data for budgeting purposes or credit analysis; strong math skills are essential
