Manhattan Pain Medicine is a pain-centered multi-specialty practice in the heart of Greenwich Village, bringing together interventional pain, rheumatology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, pain psychology, regenerative medicine, and movement-based therapies under one roof. We believe every pain has a source that can be identified and treated — and that effective care is as individual as the person seeking it.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is not a production-mill position. You will see complex, nuanced patients in an environment that rewards deep thinking, genuine collaboration, and clinical creativity. You will work alongside board-certified specialists in rheumatology, PM&R, pain psychology, and regenerative medicine, contributing your perspective to a cohesive team that builds real treatment plans — not just procedure schedules.
You will also have a voice in how we grow. We are investing in clinical innovation, patient education, outreach, and the use of emerging technology to improve outcomes. Physicians who join Manhattan Pain Medicine do not just practice here. They help define what practice here means.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Evaluate and treat patients with complex and chronic pain presentations, including musculoskeletal, neuropathic, central sensitization, and inflammatory conditions.
• Perform a full range of fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided interventional procedures including epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablation, joint injections, and spinal cord stimulation evaluation.
• Collaborate actively with our multidisciplinary team — contributing to shared case discussions, co-managed treatment plans, and coordinated patient communication.
• Participate in patient education and our monthly Chronic Pain Support Group outreach program.
• Provide telemedicine consultations as appropriate for continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate, thorough documentation in our EMR system.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management (ACGME-accredited or equivalent).
• Minimum three (3) years of post-fellowship clinical experience in pain medicine.
• Active New York State medical license or eligibility to obtain prior to start date.
• Active DEA registration.
• Board certified or board eligible in Pain Medicine (ABPM, ABA, or ABPMR).
• Proficiency in fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided interventional procedures.

Preferred:

• Interest in hypermobility spectrum disorders, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, or complex connective tissue presentations.
• Familiarity with regenerative medicine approaches (PRP, prolotherapy, orthobiologics).
• Interest in neuromodulation including spinal cord stimulation and peripheral nerve stimulation.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

We offer a compensation structure designed to provide stability, reward clinical productivity, and reflect the long-term value of the right physician joining our team.

Base Salary

• Highly competitive annual base salary commensurate with experience, paid bi-weekly as W-2 employment.

Incentive Compensation

• Formula-based semi-annual productivity bonus tied to gross collections — non-discretionary and transparent.

WHY MANHATTAN PAIN MEDICINE

Pain medicine in New York City is practiced in many ways. Most of them look the same: high volume, narrow scope, limited collaboration. Manhattan Pain Medicine was built as a deliberate alternative.
We have a rheumatologist on staff. A pain psychologist. A physiatrist specializing in regenerative medicine. A Feldenkrais practitioner. Two physician assistants. A medical director who is triple board-certified and actively publishing. We hold a monthly community support group for patients living with chronic pain. We see longer visits, by design, because we believe that is what complex patients require.
