Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead our HR department and support our organization's strategic goals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in human resources management, with expertise in talent acquisition, employee relations, and compliance with employment and labor laws. This role requires a proactive leader who can effectively manage HR programs and initiatives while fostering a positive workplace culture.
Responsibilities
- You will be the first dedicated HR professional for Mango
- Cannabis. You’ll design, implement, and manage HR processes that keep our business compliant, our
- people supported, and our culture thriving.
- Compliance & Policies: Keep handbooks updated across states; monitor state/federal labor law
- changes; maintain required postings.
- Employee Relations: Point of contact for employee issues; investigate disputes; coach managers on
- policy enforcement.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage job postings and screening; oversee onboarding and compliance;
- run orientation and training.
- Benefits & Leave Administration: Administer sick leave, PTO, benefits; track programs; support
- ADA/FMLA compliance.
- Performance & Development: Implement reviews; track performance; develop training and growth
- opportunities.
- Payroll & HR Systems: Ensure payroll accuracy with Finance; manage HRIS (Gusto); track labor
- metrics.
- Culture & Engagement: Drive recognition and engagement programs; maintain positive and compliant
- workplace culture.
- Off-boarding Procedures: Manage employee separations with professionalism and compliance; conduct
- exit interviews; recover company property; ensure final pay is processed accurately and on time;
- maintain documentation of voluntary and involuntary terminations.
- Unemployment Claims: Respond to state unemployment claims promptly and accurately; provide
- supporting documentation such as termination records and performance history; collaborate with
- managers and legal counsel as needed to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with state requirements.
- Qualifications
- What We’re Looking For - 3–5 years HR management experience, preferably in retail, hospitality, or
- cannabis. - Strong knowledge of multi-state compliance and employment law. - Excellent
- communication and conflict resolution skills. - Hands-on and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. -
- Familiarity with HRIS (Gusto preferred) and payroll systems.
