The Residential Caregiver provides dedicated support and supervision to children and youth with mental health needs within a small care team environment. Working under the guidance of a shift supervisor, the caregiver ensures a safe and nurturing atmosphere, implements individualized care plans, and maintains thorough documentation to promote client wellbeing. This role includes local transportation responsibilities and frequent accompaniment to off-site appointments, utilizing both paper and electronic systems for effective communication and documentation. Pay is biweekly every other Friday.
Responsibilities
- Provide continuous supervision ensuring client safety and wellbeing, adapting levels based on individual needs and environment
- Implement and follow individualized client service plans accurately
- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely documentation of daily progress, incidents, and medication administration
- Facilitate group, program, and recreational activities tailored to client interests and abilities
- Prepare and serve meals according to prescribed menus
- Provide transportation for clients to appointments and activities, ensuring timely and safe travel
- Administer medications in compliance with operational policies
- Communicate effectively with care team members, including shift supervisors, to ensure continuity of care and crisis response
- Identify and intervene in crisis situations, including recognizing suicide risk factors and warning signs
- Participate actively in shift transition meetings and use designated technology tools to document and coordinate care
- Assistance with housekeeping activities that support the clients health and safety, including but not limited to: changing bed linens, housekeeping, laundering, storing purchased items, washing dishes.
- Assistance with activities related to the care of the clients physical health, including but not limited to: bathing, dressing, grooming, routine hair and skin care, preparing meals, feeding, exercising, and helping with self-administered medication, toileting, and transferring/ambulating.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- MUST have a current TX driver's license and able to transport consumers to or from the adult day program in company vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum one year of residential caregiving experience
- CPR and First Aid certification ( if no certification, all expense paid training will be provided)
- Strong skills in patient care, medication administration, and safety awareness
- Proficiency in crisis intervention techniques
- Effective communication and documentation capabilities
- Excellent time management, empathy, and teamwork abilities
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
