Role Description The ELA Teacher-6th Grade is a full-time, on-site position located in Manchester, NH. This role is responsible for planning and delivering standards-based English Language Arts instruction, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening activities that meet the needs of diverse learners. Daily responsibilities include designing and implementing lesson plans, assessing student progress, providing feedback, and differentiating instruction to support individual and group learning goals. The teacher will manage classroom routines, maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, collaborate with grade-level and department colleagues, communicate regularly with families and guardians, and participate in school-wide initiatives, meetings, and professional development. The role also involves using data to inform instruction, integrating technology into lessons, and supporting students’ social-emotional development alongside academic growth.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in teaching English Language Arts at the middle school level, including reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, and grammar instruction.
- Ability to design clear, engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and adapt instruction for varied learning styles and abilities.
- Strong classroom management skills and experience creating inclusive, culturally responsive, and student-centered learning environments.
