We are seeking a dependable, motivated Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced urgent care team. The Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians and advanced practice providers to support efficient patient flow, provide direct patient care, assist with procedures, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Room patients and obtain/document vital signs, chief complaints, medical histories, allergies, and current medications.
- Scribe for providers during patient encounters and accurately document histories, examination findings, procedures, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record.
- Prepare patients and examination rooms for evaluation and treatment.
- Assist providers with procedures including laceration repairs, incision and drainage, wound care, dressing changes, splinting, foreign body removal, nail procedures, and other minor urgent care procedures.
- Perform point-of-care testing and properly document results.
- Assist with EKGs and other diagnostic testing as trained and authorized.
- Apply splints, braces, dressings, and other medical equipment under provider direction.
- Clean, disinfect, restock, and prepare examination and procedure rooms between patients.
- Communicate provider instructions, follow-up recommendations, and referrals to patients.
- Assist with telephone calls, laboratory results, prescription-related communications, and other clinical follow-up.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, infection-control, and workplace safety requirements.
- Work collaboratively with providers, nursing staff, laboratory personnel, and front-office staff to maintain efficient patient flow.
- Perform other clinical and administrative duties as needed to support daily urgent care operations.
Qualifications:
Previous Medical Assistant or other direct patient-care experience is preferred. Candidates should have strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, comfort working in a fast-paced clinical environment, and the ability to remain professional and compassionate when caring for patients with acute illnesses and injuries. Experience with medical scribing, phlebotomy, urgent care procedures, and electronic medical records is strongly preferred.
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
