Manchester Rehabilitation is seeking a full-time RN Unit Manager. Monday through Friday 7 am to 3 pm
- Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Connecticut.
- Minimum of year of additional education or experience in geriatric nursing or rehabilitation. Requires at least two years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Knowledge of nursing theory and practice including the administration of medications.
Position Highlights:
- Assists in interpretation of nursing policies and ensures appropriate implementation. Directs and enforces policies and procedures with staff, families, and visitors.
- Supervises and coordinates activities of nursing personnel on assigned shift to maintain continuity of nursing care. Acts as a resource in all areas of clinical care. Resolves work related complaints of charge nurses and CNA's during assigned shift.
- Verifies that all clinical changes are reported to the physician. Verifies physicians’ orders as needed.
- Ensures all documentation on medical record is complete and is accurate (including but not limited to: A & I’s; 24 Hour Nursing Report; Nursing Assessments; Monthly Kardexes/MD Orders; Documentation involving Admissions, Discharges, Deaths, and Transfers). Conducts chart audits.
- Oversees medication cart audits to ensure that expired meds are removed timely.
