Summary
This Concrete Foreman will work with and directly supervise 6-10 non-supervisory employees and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include coordinating the activities of work crews engaged in preparing and placing concrete for handwork and curb and gutter machine work, ensuring the quality of placed concrete in all areas, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems and additional duties as assigned. Daily paperwork is required to ensure timecards and job quantities are correct and additional duties as assigned.

EXCELLENCE
Plan and schedule daily work activities for your crew.
Receives written or oral assignments, contacts the crew and collects necessary equipment, assigns work for each member of the crew, and instructs crew in proper methods of work.
Responsible for inspecting work to ensure conformance with given quality standards and make necessary adjustments in assignments and methods to correct deficiencies.
Supervises and participates in the operation and maintenance of equipment including heavy and light equipment, trucks and other equipment and tools.
Assists superintendent and project manager in the preparation, administering and monitoring of the budget for each job.
Approves timecards and coordinates vacation.
Maintains and supervises a clean jobsite free of unnecessary obstacles.
Completes accident/incident reports as required.
Enforces all Manatt’s policies and procedures to employees and subs.
Avoids legal challenges by complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements.

Ensures crew members, including new hires, are fully trained and follow all safety and construction procedures.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or international equivalent (experience may be substituted for education).
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction, construction methods, interpretation of plans and specifications including the ability to read survey stakes and use a survey rod and level to check slopes and drainage prior to concrete placement.
- Ability to read plans, excellent problem solving skills, and a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work long hours, nights and weekends when necessary.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Gomaco curb and gutter machine experience, a plus.
- Current driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- CDL license preferred or able to obtain in a reasonable time frame after hire.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to pass a pre-work physical screening and a drug test.
