What you will be doing: Responsible for conducting direct recruitment activities, and interfacing with other outreach contractors in compliance with government and management directives
Essential Functions
- Conduct direct recruitment activities, including public speaking; develop linkages with referral sources such as human services agencies, recreation centers, youth organizations and churches; participate in center tours; contact potential enrollees to explore enrollment
- Arrange for reception of candidates upon acceptance to the program
- Follow-up on student progress, e.g., length of stay and separation
- Prepare, schedule and provide outreach presentations in the assigned area; provide outreach presentations in support of the regional outreach efforts
- Maintain accountability logs of organizations contacted, individuals contacted, referrals to screening agencies and subsequent enrollments
- Generate sufficient amount of prospects to sustain OBS. Coordinate and communicate current OBS levels and ongoing needs to maintain OBS
- Refer youth to designated screening or other support agencies, as appropriate
- Prepare necessary and required reports related to the recruitment effort
- Assist with placement activities
- Initiate applications with interested prospects during outreach events
- Support applicants with document upload, as needed
- Promote the development of career success standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students when necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions
- Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy
- Maintain accountability of property; adhere to safety practices.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field; or an associate’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field and two years related experience required
- Experience may include successful Job Corps outreach and admissions experience or successful outreach and admissions experience with other youth development programs
- A Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
