The Opportunity
We are seeking a Manufacturing Accountant who will own core financial operations inside a dynamic industrial environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in plant accounting, cost analysis, fixed asset management, and month‑end close — and wants to be part of a company scaling rapidly from pilot to full commercial production.
You will be the financial backbone of the plant: ensuring accuracy, strengthening controls, partnering with engineering and operations, and driving visibility into production costs, inventory, and capital projects.
Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting & Financial Reporting
Apply strong U.S. GAAP across fixed assets, inventory, accruals, leases, and investments.
Prepare internal financial statements (balance sheet, income statement) and support forecasting of cash, costs, and revenues.
Manage assigned month‑end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and intercompany eliminations.
Fixed Assets, CIP, and Capital Projects
Own the Construction in Progress (CIP) and Fixed Asset accounting process.
Record new assets (tangible & intangible), maintain roll‑forwards, track disposals, and manage depreciation.
Partner with engineering to maintain a complete and accurate asset inventory.
Support lease accounting and right‑of‑use asset management.
Manufacturing Cost & Inventory Accounting
Monitor production‑related costs and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
Reconcile multi‑layer ledgers, cost centers, functional areas, and profit centers.
Support inventory accounting across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
Analyze financial trends and prepare annual financial statements and notes.
Controls, Compliance & Audit
Prepare external audit workpapers and support auditors during fieldwork.
Evaluate internal controls and identify gaps or risks.
Support annual tax filings, registrations, fees, and compliance requirements.
Process Improvement & Automation
Advance adoption of AI tools (Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) to streamline accounting workflows.
Improve asset tracking, accelerate close timelines, and enhance reporting accuracy.
Provide monthly purchase card management support to AP.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
3 years of U.S. GAAP accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong understanding of Fixed Asset accounting, including CIP/AUC.
Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, data tables, optimization).
Experience with SAP Business ByDesign or similar ERP systems.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and collaborate cross‑functionally.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to build processes in a fast‑moving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA, MBA, or Master’s in Accounting.
Experience in biomanufacturing, chemical manufacturing, fermentation, or industrial production environments.
Work Environment
Office-based role within an industrial facility.
Requires routine movement through plant areas and adherence to PPE and safety standards.
Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
