Direct Support Professional

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, aging-related conditions, and memory impairments. Duties

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance using equipment like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices.
• Monitor residents’ vital signs, observe for changes in health status, and report findings accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Administer medications following care plans and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, including cooking and meal planning while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area.
• Support residents during recreational activities, social outings, and community engagement to promote socialization and mental stimulation.
• Maintain a safe environment by performing cleaning duties, ensuring infection control standards are met, and adhering to safety protocols such as CPR and first aid procedures.
• Document resident progress, update care plans regularly, and collaborate with healthcare teams, social workers, or family members to optimize care delivery.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, or working with individuals with autism or disabilities is advantageous.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus.
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift.
• Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and patient care; excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and resident interaction.
• Experience with medication administration, vital signs measurement, and following detailed care plans is essential.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
