Position Overview
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals in both residential (AFL) and community-based settings. This role focuses on promoting independence, ensuring safety, and supporting meaningful community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily living support including hygiene, meal assistance, and household tasks
- Maintain consistent structure and routines to promote stability and well-being
- Support individuals in community activities (e.g., gym, volunteering, outings, errands)
- Provide verbal prompting, redirection, and supervision as needed
- Assist with meal monitoring and safe eating practices to reduce choking risks
- Monitor for changes in mood, health, or behavior and report appropriately
- Promote safety awareness in home and community environments (e.g., navigating streets, public settings)
- Support individuals in maintaining appropriate social interactions and personal boundaries
- Provide transportation and accompaniment to appointments, work, and activities
- Implement positive behavior supports, including redirection and de-escalation strategies
- Ensure documentation and compliance with care plans and agency standards

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License & reliable transportation
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Experience in IDD/behavioral health preferred (not required – training provided)
