Position Overview
Seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist to manage import and export processes for U.S. export-controlled goods (EAR and ITAR). The role ensures all international shipments meet federal, customs, and local regulatory requirements while supporting operational efficiency and compliance across departments.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage import/export clearance processes and documentation.
Prepare and submit Electronic Export Information (EEI) via the ACE portal.
Classify items using HTS, Schedule B, and ECCN codes from top-level assemblies to components.
Serve as the main point of contact for all customs and trade-related transactions.
Partner with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other trade compliance stakeholders.
Maintain accurate and complete import/export transaction records and audit customs entries (Form 7501).
Support trade compliance reviews and assist in determining jurisdiction and product classification (HTS, USML, ECCN).
Track license utilization, monitor shipments, and resolve issues during transit.
Assist with MRO team shipments (9801 U.S. Goods returns).
Ensure compliance with FDA, EAR, ITAR, and OFAC regulations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field.
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with U.S. import/export regulations and operations.
Experience preparing and submitting EEI filings and working with the ACE portal.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Must be eligible to obtain a DOD security clearance.
U.S. Citizenship is required (no exceptions).
