Job Description:
This specific position is for an Administrative Assistant in our Medical Department. As an Administrative Assistant, you’ll be an essential part of the team, providing crucial support to ensure smooth operations for the Nurses within the Medical department and the organization.
We are looking for a motivated individual who works well with others, acts professionally, and demonstrates excellent time management skills. This individual will also need excellent computer skills and have an eye for detail.
Qualifications:
- Strong computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Outlook, Word & Access
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent professional customer service skills, 2 years of customer service experience (preferred)
- Highly detail-oriented and accurate
- Is solutions-oriented and completes tasks and projects effectively and in a timely manner
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task
- Able to adjust to changing priorities and adapt with a high sense of urgency
- Ability to be a team-player who works well with executives and employees at all levels
- Maintains a positive attitude, is reliable, hard-working, and motivated
Education & Experience:
- 2 years of medical office experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of medical terminology or willingness to learn
- Associate’s degree in administration (preferred)
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive requests for prior authorizations, set up authorization order using New York State Medical Portal and eCase.
- Must document and verify information in the Company’s Microsoft Access Database.
- Review accuracy and completeness of information requested and ensure that all supporting documentation is present.
- Ensure Prior Authorization Requests are properly and closely monitored for timeliness.
- Process correspondence letters by ensuring proper format and accurate documentation, send to appropriate parties.
- Processes documentation, including emails, letters, faxes & customer invoices.
- Manage correspondence with customers, patients, and others as required
Other Functions:
- Perform special projects assigned by team lead/manager
- Provide cross coverage within department when deemed necessary
- Occasionally perform front office duties as assigned
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt
Salary: $41,600.00 - $43,680.00 per year
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8-Hour shifts.
Location: In person/On site – This is an onsite office position in Grand Island, NY with the ability to transition to hybrid/work from home (with mgmt. approval).
Pay: $41,600.00 - $43,680.00 per year
