What are the responsibilities and job description for the Low Voltage Service Technician position at Manage Tech Solutions?
What You'll Do
- Install, terminate, test, and label structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6, coax, fiber)
- Install and connect CCTV/surveillance, access control, and network/POS cabling and hardware
- Mount and dress racks, panels, cameras, and devices; run cable through conduit, ceilings, and walls
- Troubleshoot, service, and repair existing low-voltage systems at client sites
- Work from site drawings, scopes of work, and site lists
- Complete close-out documentation — photos, test results, and site paperwork
- Travel to multiple job sites and work scheduled night and weekend shifts as projects require
- Represent MTS professionally on active client sites and maintain tools, materials, and vehicle inventory
What You Bring
- 1–3 years of low-voltage, structured cabling, or security installation experience (strong entry-level candidates considered for an apprentice track)
- Comfort with hand and power tools, ladders, and lifts, and working at heights
- Ability to work nights, after-hours, and travel to job sites with reliable transportation
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet in varied site conditions
- Dependability, professionalism, and solid documentation habits
Nice to Have
- Experience in convenience-store, fuel, or retail environments
- CCTV, access control, or networking familiarity
- Certifications (BICSI, NICET, or manufacturer certs) — a plus, not required
- OSHA-10/30
Schedule
- Mon - Fri 6:00AM - 2:00PM
- Some installations cannot start until later but we generally try to keep it between the hours listed above.
