Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with consistency and excellence, following established recipes and presentation standards
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, braising pots, poaching stations, and food preparation tools
- Ensure all food handling and sanitation procedures comply with food safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Assist in menu planning and food production for daily service, special events, or catering orders
- Execute food preparation tasks such as braising, grilling, poaching, and other cooking techniques with skill and precision
- Support dietary department needs by understanding dietary restrictions and adhering to meal specifications
- Maintain high standards of quality control throughout the cooking process and during food presentation
Experience
- Proven experience as a line cook or in a similar culinary role within high-volume kitchens or fine dining establishments
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures
- Demonstrated proficiency in various cooking techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation
- Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Familiarity with recipe adherence, food handling protocols, and quality assurance standards
- Background in dietary aide tasks or dietary department experience is a plus
- Prior restaurant or catering experience emphasizing food production and serving in fast-paced environments
