Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Acute Care Registered Nurse (RN) for an urgent backfill opportunity at an award-winning Level II Trauma Center in Topeka, Kansas. This role is within a new Admissions Pending Unit, requiring a highly skilled nurse who can thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Shift Details:
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 hours/week (3x12s)
- Contract: 13–26 weeks (26 weeks preferred)
- No 48-hour guarantee available
Responsibilities:
- Provide acute care nursing for admitted patients awaiting unit placement
- Handle high patient turnover and admissions
- Float to other units as needed
- Deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care
Requirements:
- Active RN license
- Minimum 2 years acute care / Med-Surg experience
- Travel experience REQUIRED (no first-time travelers)
- Certifications required:
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- NIHSS
- TNCC (must obtain if expired)
- Experience with Epic EMR required
Additional Details:
- Floating required
- Holidays required as needed
- OT billed after 48 hours
