Maintenance - Day Porter

Position Summary

The Day Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and employees throughout the store, and restrooms.  This role includes cleaning, sanitizing, restocking supplies, handling minor maintenance tasks, and supporting overall store appearance and operations during business hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, entrances, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain sales floor cleanliness.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed.
• Clean windows, doors, shopping carts, baskets, and checkout areas.
• Monitor and promptly address spills and safety hazards.
• Maintain cleanliness of patio, and exterior areas.
• Restock restroom and cleaning supplies.
• Assist with setting up displays, moving carts, and light stocking duties when needed.
• Report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, or safety concerns to management.
• Follow all company safety policies and sanitation procedures.
• Provide friendly customer service and assist customers with simple inquiries when appropriate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous janitorial, porter, custodial, or retail experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry items throughout the shift.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and pushing carts.
• Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor conditions.

Work Schedule

• Day shift, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Full-time or part-time positions available.
