The Building Engineer plays a key role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and comfort of our facilities. This position focuses on routine maintenance, basic repairs, and ensuring systemsincluding electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural componentsoperate efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine inspections of building systems, equipment, and groundsComplete work orders involving light electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and carpentry tasksSupport Property Manager in maintaining and following preventive maintenance schedulesRespond promptly and professionally to emergency maintenance situationsAssist skilled vendors and contractors with access and coordination as neededMonitor and maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and partsMaintain accurate maintenance logs, documentation, and service recordsConduct seasonal facility support tasks (e.g., snow removal, landscaping, heating/cooling prep)Ensure all work meets safety standards and building codesQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade training a plusMinimum 2 years of hands-on experience in building maintenance, facility operations, or a related fieldGeneral handyman skills in basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry repairsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and schematics (preferred)Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skillsUnderstanding of position scopeknows when to escalate to licensed trades or specialistsPhysically able to lift, bend, climb, and work in varying environmental conditionsValid drivers license
