Entry-Level Posting
We are seeking an Entry Level Environmental Scientist/Geologist who is familiar with environmental work and is motivated to grow. Experience with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and basic scientific field work practices is preferred but not required. Applicants must demonstrate a desire to develop a full understanding of the importance of scientific integrity and ethical business practices. This position is a full-time, hourly position and pay will be based on education and experience. Flexible work hours and commitment to client needs are vital. Familiarity with the following is preferred, but not required:
- Air, soil, groundwater sampling, and other types of environmental work.
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Geology, Biology, or related degree,
- A valid Driver's License as local travel is involved,
- Technological literacy, including ability to use Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat,
- Ability to travel locally, perform field work up to 90% of the time,
- Ability to maintain flexibility and work independently with minimal supervision,
- Communicate with staff, clients, and contractors effectively and professionally,
- Be able to perform all project work in a safe manner, and oversee safe work practices for other staff and contractors,
- Must be able to record field documentation/information in written or electronic form,
- Candidate must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 50lbs, several times per day.

Mid-Level Posting
MAKSolve is seeking an Environmental Scientist or Geologist who has familiarity with project management and is motivated to grow. Skills and experience with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments are preferred. Candidates should have field experience in other areas, such as Phase II subsurface work, soil, air, and groundwater sampling, or other environmental work. This is a full-time, hourly position and pay will be based on education and experience. This position requires a high degree of autonomy and a full understanding of the importance of scientific integrity and ethical business practices. The following experience is preferred, but not required:
- Environmental Health and Safety Regulatory Compliance - OSHA
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification,
- Regulatory knowledge in OH, KY, and IN,
- Regulatory knowledge in USEPA, RCRA, CERCLA, OSHA, and CWA.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Studies, Geology, or related science degree,
- 2 years’ experience in an environmental project management position or equivalent,
- Be able to write and review technical reports and proposals (technical writing sample may be requested),
- Technical competence in Environmental Due Diligence, either under ASTM or the Ohio EPA Voluntary Action Program,
- Ensure safe performance of project work, oversee safety requirements for staff, and sub-contractors,
- A valid Driver's License as local travel is involved,
- Ability to conduct some preplanned travel if a project requires it,
- Detail oriented with strong decision-making skills,
- Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently,
- Manage technical projects and project budgets under oversight,
- Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly.
