  1. Sample Collection and Processing: Medical lab techs collect patient samples such as blood, urine, tissue, or other body fluids. They use their knowledge of normal and abnormal values to identify any deviations or abnormalities and report them to the healthcare provider. They may also assist in the preparation of reports, graphs, and charts to communicate findings effectively.

  5. Equipment Maintenance: Medical lab techs are responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment. They may also coordinate with manufacturers or service technicians for more complex repairs or upgrades.
