Making A Difference Foundation (MADF) is dedicated to empowering youth and supporting community-based agriculture initiatives in Tacoma, WA. As the full-time Rising Roots Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery and coordination of the Rising Roots youth microgreens and urban agriculture workforce development program. This program provides hands-on training for youth ages 16–25, focusing on microgreens production, food systems, entrepreneurship, and life skills development. You will work on-site across greenhouse, garden, and community locations, reporting directly to the Director of Programs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and facilitate weekly program sessions for youth participants.
- Support youth engagement, mentorship, and participation tracking throughout the program.
- Oversee planting, growing, and harvesting processes in microgreens and urban agriculture projects.
- Track program data and outcomes to ensure effective delivery and impact.
- Manage partnerships, outreach efforts, and program logistics with community stakeholders.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for youth development and workforce training.

Required Qualifications:- 3 years of experience in program coordination or youth development
- Experience working with youth ages 16–25
- Experience working with diverse communities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace
- Experience using Monday.com for project tracking or CRM
- Experience with microgreens production or urban agriculture programs
- Able to lift 30–40 lbs and perform standing, bending, and light labor indoors and outdoors
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between the classroom, greenhouse, garden, and community sites
- Experience facilitating group sessions or trainings
- Availability for 2-3 evenings per week and Saturdays during the 20-week program
