WHAT YOU DO EVERY DAY AN ASPHALT - SEALCOATING CREW LEAD?

As the Asphalt - Sealcoating Crew Lead, you're essential to each project's success. From day one, you take the lead-assigning tasks, guiding your crew, and making sure every job meets our top-notch standards. Your mornings begin with smart planning to ensure that materials, equipment, and schedules are all set for a productive day. On-site, you're hands-on, overseeing operations, solving problems on the fly, and keeping quality and safety at the forefront. You track progress, log hours and materials, and keep the office informed so everything runs smoothly. Whether you're placing and finishing concrete, setting grades, or coordinating equipment moves, you're all about delivering smooth, high-quality results. Most importantly, you lead by example-keeping your crew motivated, focused, and ready to crush every job.

This construction management role can work full-time with the opportunity for overtime.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE OUR ASPHALT - SEALCOATING CREW LEAD?

• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
• Ability and willingness to acquire a DOT medical card
• 18 years old
• Ability to read a tape measure and use general hand tools
• Ability to Set Grades Accurately and Independently
• Ability to Place and Loot Asphalt Effectively
• Knowledge of Asphalt Milling, Patching, and Maintenance
• Ability to Plan Ahead for the Current and upcoming projects
• Ability to orchestrate a crew to efficiently complete jobs
• Ability to effectively track and Document work
• Ability to Communicate with Crew and Office
• Ability to problem solve solutions to difficult problems
• Hold Unique skills or abilities applicable to the trades associated with General Construction
  • I.E. a Selection of
    • Efficiently and Safely Operating Equipment
    • Being Mechanically inclined
    • General Carpentry skills
    • General skills in Mathematics
    • Ability to set grades
    • Ability to use Msc. Power tools
    • Knowledge of Various trades and construction practices
    • Etc.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently complete jobs to Plans, Specs, and outlined standards
• Delegate tasks to the crew and assist in the completion of Projects and tasks as necessary
• Mentor and promote the growth of crew members and their skills
• Complete Daily logs to document events, progress, and setbacks in a timely manner
  • Take and submit Photos
  • Log detailed Notes
  • Verify, allocate, and confirm Crew Hours
  • Track Material Usage
  • Track Production/ Completed work
  • Log and share Unusual Events (Equipment Malfunction, Weather Events, Unforeseen roadblocks)
• Driving Miscellaneous trucks and trailers
• Arrive on-site at scheduled times
• Responsibly set start times and schedules for the crew
• Efficiently plan the Mobilization of Equipment and materials in and out of jobs to minimize wasteful use of resources by coordinating with the Project Manager
• Quality Control Crew and their work to ensure Equipment care and Job Quality
• Apply knowledge of Asphalt, Sealcoating, and line striping to ensure the tasks at hand are done in an acceptable manner
• Effectively and professionally communicate with the office to ensure a unified team and allow for pre-emptive solutions to be found, rather than reactive
• Communicate with Clients and onsite contacts as necessary to coordinate the project, mitigate miscommunication, and ensure acceptance of work

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 1 years of experience in construction, concrete finishing, asphalt paving, site grading, pavement maintenance, or related labor work
