This individual will coordinate the fundraising, peer-to-peer coaching, logistics management, and volunteer committee support associated with community programs and events.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Relationship Management
- Supports smaller revenue-generating events such as the Kids for Wish Kids and Wishmakers on Campus programs.
- Recruits, coaches, and supports individuals and teams through their peer-to-peer fundraising efforts to meet their personal and event fundraising goals.
- Assists the efforts of our Walk for Wishes committee by providing material and technology support on a statewide basis.
- Identifies, cultivates, and stewards donors of events and community programs.
- Supports logistic implementation of the statewide Walk for Wishes and Penguin Plunge internal events. This includes participant and team management, website management, sponsorship tracking, and overall event experience.
- Designs event materials, such as flyers, sponsorship signs, and as-needed items within an event.
- Manages the Walk for Wishes and Penguin Plunge social media pages.
- Supports Community Engagement team with specific regional event logistics.
- Travels across the state to visit with current and future donors to cultivate and strengthen relationships when needed.
- Creates presentations to connect the community to the mission when requested at events.
- Uses existing systems to track, report, and analyze donor and event activity.
- Handles administrative work such as event paperwork, material distribution, and requests for support.
- Assists in organizing and maintaining internal event storage area.
- Processes licensing agreements, maintains project plans, creates event folders, and maintains community event calendar.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Minimum 2 years of event experience (peer-to-peer fundraising experience preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
- Proficiency in all components of Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms, and knowledge of other event management software (preferred).
- Proficiency and knowledge of design software such as Canva.
- Ability to use social media to support event recruitment and donor relationships.
- Ability to travel within the state of Illinois for occasional meetings or events.
- Ability to attend (infrequent) meetings or events outside of normal business hours.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing, and flexible work environment.
- Goal-orientated with a proven track record of fundraising success.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented with project and event management skills.

- This position is typically performed in an interior, environmentally controlled office setting. The duties of the job require extended periods of time being stationary and manipulating a computer (keyboard, monitor, mouse), and other standard office equipment including, but not limited to printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.
- At times this job will require an ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
