Makana North Shore Urgent Care is seeking a compassionate, clinically strong, and team-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our urgent care team in Princeville, Kauaʻi.
As an independent clinic serving our rural North Shore community, we are committed to providing high-quality, accessible, and patient-centered care. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a supportive clinical team in a fast-paced urgent care setting where strong assessment skills, flexibility, and compassionate communication are essential.
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care and clinical support in our urgent care setting, including triage, medication administration, wound care, diagnostic testing, and patient education. This role works closely with providers and clinical staff to support safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
The ideal candidate is confident in urgent clinical decision-making, comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient environment, and committed to delivering exceptional care to our community.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include patient triage and assessment, obtaining medical histories and vital signs, initiating IV access, administering medications, injections, and vaccinations, performing EKGs and CLIA-waived point-of-care testing, providing wound care and orthoglass splinting, and assisting providers with procedures and treatments.
Additional responsibilities include accurate documentation in the electronic health record, supporting room turnover and clinic flow, maintaining supplies and clinical readiness, and contributing to a collaborative team environment. As part of a small independent clinic, this role may also be assigned administrative projects, quality improvement initiatives, workflow support, or other operational tasks based on clinic needs.
Qualifications
Required
- Current Hawaiʻi Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
Preferred
- 1 year RN experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or outpatient acute care
- Experience working in small or rural clinic environments
- Familiarity with EHR systems
Work Environment
This is a fast-paced outpatient urgent care setting that requires frequent standing, walking, and the ability to respond efficiently to varying patient acuity. PPE is provided and required in accordance with clinic safety standards.
